SDSU STUDENT SYMPOSIUM (S3) is an event held at San Diego State University (SDSU) where passionate students come together to showcase their talents, work, and share innovative ideas in a welcoming space. To celebrate their 3rd annual event, the goal was to create a poster, a pamphlet, and three social media posts to capture this experience using imagery and the school colors: red, teal, black, and white.

S3 POSTER ITERATIONS

2026 SDSU STUDENT SYMPOSIUM POSTER aims to encourage student participation from all academic backgrounds. The design centers on vector speech bubbles, highlighting the community and vibrant exchange of innovative ideas in this interactive event. The title, ‘Shaping Ideas,’ further captures this dynamic. The dotted texture applied to the three speech bubbles adds a contrast to the solid-colored bubbles and highlights the liveliness of having conversations. A bold color palette of red and teal on a black background celebrates the SDSU’s school colors, while a clean, professional typeface inspired by the SDSU logo balances the design, emphasizing both a welcoming and scholarly atmosphere.

S3 SOCIAL MEDIA POSTS ITERATIONS

2026 SDSU STUDENT SYMPOSIUM SOCIAL MEDIA POSTS feature the same speech bubble imagery as the main poster to maintain brand consistency. Each post includes images showcasing students’ projects and coursework in preparation for the event. Additionally, two different titles, “Inspiring Minds” and “Transforming Futures,” extend the theme of “Shaping Ideas." For visual focus, event information is repositioned from the footer to the side of the posts. The posts continue to encourage students to participate.

2026 SDSU STUDENT SYMPOSIUM PAMPHLET features a simplified version of the poster, resized to fit pamphlet dimensions. The QR code, event description, and date have been removed for simplicity while maintaining the SDSU logo and S3 logo.
